Clinton team exposes another weakness [View all]

Has the fact that Trump has not spent enough time speaking with people on a personal level been discussed before? The Clintons have been known to manage by walking around, meaning they are known for going from place to place and really speaking directly to the people, getting to know them and what they are about. Without this experience it's hard to have empathy and wisdom regarding the people that you are governing.

I was reminded of Trump's statement that he could shoot someone and not lose any votes. What if the person he shot was a veteran or a firefighter or maybe a gold star family, someone that his base identifies with? Was the assumption that he would shoot (or punch as he now likes to say) someone that his people don't like or identify with? This may help to explain how he thinks he can attack a gold star family and not have it affect his standing with his base. If he had spent time breaking bread with his people he may have had a different approach to the situation.
