Kids! [View all]

I think everyone here knows whose side I was on during the primary. I even threatened to NOT vote in November; I really, really wanted Bernie Sanders as the Democratic candidate and ultimately, president.

It didn't work out that way though, and as I watched the convention and how Bernie managed to compromise with the Democratic Party and Hillary, and worked to bring his supporters onboard, I resigned myself to voting for Hillary.

THEN - guess what happened?

I got a text from my 13 year old nephew who lives 1500 miles away. He loves Hillary and asked me to download her app and help out. Then he kept sending me pics and we've have a continuing conversation about all things political.....how on earth could I refuse my incredibly smart, perceptive, and progressive nephew, AND future Democrat?

I couldn't.

So here I am.

I didn't leave DU, I didn't leave the Democratic Party, and I'm firmly behind Hillary. As a bonus - I have a way to stay connected to my nephew because I never get to spend time with him. What a gift!

I still love Bernie though, and I'm excited to see him campaign for Hillary.

Onward, in solidarity!
