All that you say is so true. As a teacher who struggled for many years to teach critical thinking, I would say I won over quite a few on the borderline, but had a near zero success rate with those thoroughly indoctrinated by parents who, in many cases were abusive, mostly mainly mentally. Why would any voter believe that a candidate has a "secret plan?" If worth a vote as a true patriot, they'd reveal and stop the carnage. This claim is as old as politics. Does anyone really vote based on that nonsense? I doubt it...just one more excuse to elect the charlatan who appeals to their other prejudices.
