That's not going to happen. The Ideological divide between the parties is too large. Right wing groups have been targeting so called Republican moderates in public office and there aren't many left, if at all.

Trump is going to lose, and lose badly, which is the best thing that can happen for establishment Republicans. Then they can say to their rank and file - See what happens when you go rogee and nominate someone like Trump. I still think they will have a rebellion on their hands, but if Trump were to win, I have trouble seeing how the GOP survives.
