The existence of lines doesn't vindicate the use of voting machines.

Having to go to the board of elections doesn't make voting by mail so very convenient.

In Oregon there is still the GOTV effort so you may want to check with your state party office.

You receive your ballot in the mail and drop it off at drop boxes at your leisure.

In California you can vote by mail or in person. I have a permanent vote by mail.
