Throughout American history the job has often gone to an "elder" member of the party.

Martinez is kinda an unknown quantity on the national stage. Haley is known, but now has scandal problems.

Murkowski is capable, Palin was not.

Lieberman is irrelevant.

Either way, Romney has a big problem with women and he's not going to get around it picking an old white man.

Maybe he goes with Rick Perry.
