Check out Ellen Brown Its Our Money. If we had public banks like North Dakota we could save half on infrastructure and give out low interest rates to everyone. As it is we leave it to private banks to decide who gets loans and at what rate (like 30%). The private banks keep all the profit less about 0.75% which they have an unlimited source of funds to loan out courtisy of the USA.
