Democratic at the presidential election level when the mass of registered Ds turn out.

A split at the state level, where there is this thing where the state goes R, D, R, D for governor and almost a complete even split on the senators over time.

Almost a sure thing R majority in the senate and legislature do to some of the most embarrasingly gerrymandered districts in the country.

Corbett is in BIG trouble for a number of reasons, primarily because of the Sandusky situation. Everything else, cuts to education, being unabashedly in bed with the natural gas industry, his hair brained idea to privatize the lottery, these things piss people off, but are not enough to get people motivated enough to bump a governor in this state. We literally have never had a one term governor in my life.

But, he is literally on the wrong side of every aspect of the Sandusky situation. Did not prosecute him when he was AG, is recognized as the person who is responsible for driving the firing of Paterno and piled on when the sanctions hit.

His problem is two fold. You can fuck with the environment and education and sell of the public assets and get away with it, but you can't fuck around with a sport that lies at the very heart of so many people like PSU does. Second, PSU is a VERY republican institution. I have never seen so many rock ribbed republican's turn on a guy like Corbett, who in fucking with the environment and education and being a corporate whore is pretty much someone they normally would love.

He is in a LOT of trouble.

BUT, it depends on the D candidate.

Gotta have someone who is going to allow these Rs to either vote for them, or at the very least being willing to sit it out.

And, he or she still will be dealing with a solid R house/senate.
