In reply to the discussion: Reid finally grows a pair - Senate will end GOP filibuster obstruction of nominees [View all]MADem
(135,425 posts)60. Again, you're showing us all your "grasp" of the subject matter.
I love it when people double-down on a stance that just isn't supported by facts.
Keep painting yourself into that corner, now!
Your remarks suggest that you do not understand how the guy got the leadership job he's in. Hint--it's not a beauty contest, and unless you are a sitting senator in the Democratic delegation, nobody cares what you think. Harry has to herd fifty five people, and he's doing a superb job at it.
The only people who are pissed at him right now are Republicans.
Perhaps you should be a little less concerned about Harry's "pair." It won't do you any good to obsess about them, in any event.

Judicial nominees only excluding SCOTUS. Should have scuttled the filibuster altogether

So before now, when he didnt "have the votes" he was afraid to call for a vote

Why would he call a vote that won't pass ... so that the media can use it against him?

People just don't understand that it is the job of leadership to count the votes.

There are people here who do not understand how the Senate Majority Leader is selected.

No, but Reid is an institutionalist and I doubt that Reid's action was really voluntary

Not calling for a vote looks like he cant get his caucus in line. I want him to at least expose

What--because he didn't call you and keep you informed of his behind-the-scenes negotiations?

I don't want to hear "will end". I want to hear "has ended", followed immediately by a long list

It was a "done deal" when Reid started talking. Rapid followup of "confirmed" appointees is key.

... or at least reduce it to a more reasonable 55, subject to revision n/t
