10. LCR's are a mass of contradictions, I'm not sure why anyone would respect anything they have to say.

There was nothing this president, or any other president could have done to change yesterday's results. I know! I live here! What has to happen is people have to hold these nuts in their state legislatures accountable, and stop scapegoating the president for everything that's fucked up in their lives. I wonder how many of these nutty assed teabaggers that have taken over our state & local governments were backed by the Log Cabin Republicans? And even if they didn't endorse them...Silence is consent. Did they issue a press release when this abomination was drafted by the members of their own party?

I've said this before, and I'll say it again for those who have rushed to lay this all at the steps of the WH. Many of us listened to angry liberal activists, in the midterms, who told us how "disillusioned" we should all be because everything wasn't accomplished in 18 mos., so we sat home. We're now paying for that "disillusionment" in ways we never thought imaginable.

To be quite honest, the things contained in this press release were actually said (in so many words) right here on this board last night. Stuff like "who cares what he thinks"? "Screw him"! All this would be understandable if we didn't know his stance on the issue when we voted for him in '08. We did know! His "evolution" is completed. And I think he deserves credit as I don't think any other sitting president in the history of this country has made such a declaration. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

My consolation is that LBJ, who signed the CRA, lamented that in doing so, he'd lost the South for a generation, but it was the right thing to do. This, too, may be political suicide, but it was the right thing to do. This will definitely make some swing states more difficult to win, which is why I don't understand the venom directed at this president.
