But the Colorado DMV wouldn't accept my Passport in lieu of a birth certificate. It wasn't for vote reg., I think it was for renewing my DL, but it was a long time ago. I remember having to go back three friggin' times.

Original birth certificates are not available to anyone. The state retains them permanently and
