(2,493 posts)Is simply not correct. First, the Supreme Court disagrees with you, and the 2d Amendment itself is clear -- "the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." As the Supreme Court explained, a prefatory clause ("a well regulated militia"
can't limit the operative clause ("shall not be infringed"
. Second, it just isn't the Supreme Court that disagrees with you -- there are plenty of law review articles that establish that the 2d Amendment was intended to protect an individual right to keep and bear arms.
