(62,325 posts)are, I have no clue what Hillary's are. Maybe you can enlighten those of us Democratic Teachers what her policies are so we can make an informed decision as to whether or not this endorsement represents the membership, the parents and the students who will be affected by it.
Teachers in this country are the least respected profession which is why many of the best leave and go on to other professions. Sanders knows this and has an excellent grasp of why this country is so far behind in so many areas of education compared to other developed nations.
I see your comment but it tells me nothing about Hillary's position on this most important issue, not just to teachers, but to the parents who feel betrayed by the policies that have subjected their children to a system that is failing so badly and for so long now, since Bush introduced his Business program cynically called 'NCLB' now enhanced and much worse, under this administration.
Teachers were promised many things during the 2008 campaign, now they feel betrayed as they watch the privatization of the Public School System for profit.
I do not know a single teacher who supports the current 'system' and I know quite a few who quit due to the fact that this privatization system makes education impossible for good teachers.
So, what are Hillary's policies on this most important issue? I don't have any idea so would like to know why this Union Leader saw fit to endorse someone whose policies are virtually unknown even to teachers, let alone parents.
