But, without trying to diminish that fact, I would like to add that this is only one tool in the box. The whole 'divide and conquer' strategy is what is in play. US against THEM (white/black, rich/poor, union/non-union, public employees/private employees, and the list goes on to include whatever works for them at the time).
What we as a nation have to do is to not allow that tactic's success, and that is no easy thing.
