(39,215 posts)Have lived with my family in a family of POC since the 60s and have never been accused of talking at them or any of the members of our community. So I am really curiously how this is done.
Hillary makes a speech. Bernie makes a speech. O'Malley makes a speech. I do not see Hillary talking any different about any of the issues. I mostly see her ignoring most of the issues of today and saying no more than the others on race.
And do not tell me passion. I do not listen to tone of voice or some portrayed emotion that may or may not mean anything. I listen to the issues. All the issues that matter to the future of America and the world. That includes BlackLivesMatter but does not exclude a lot of other issues that are of vital importance to our country.
Since all the candidates pretty much say the same things on racism and police brutality then I want to know about the other issues from each candidate. And I want that is detail just like I want the BLM issues in detail.
These other issues are not unimportant. They affect POC also - I give a damn that my great grandchildren do not have enough to eat. That they live in substandard housing, That their parents do not make enough to live on even when both of them are working full time. I care that they can get a good education. And I care that they will have a world left over when the rich stop polluting it.
And yes, I care that they are not safe from police violence and mass incarceration when they walk our of the door every day.
