"Tricky Dicky" got in touch with Nguyen Van Thieu, and told him that if he waited until after the election, he'd get a better deal from the Republicans. The LBJ Library has a recording of Johnson discussing this with Everett Dirksen, where they agree that this action was "treason" - but Johnson felt it was important to "keep it out of the campaign". So that's how Nixon won his 1st term, and I don't think I really need to discuss how he won the 2nd.

Likewise, Jimmy Carter had a deal worked out to bring the Hostages home from Iran, but Saint Ronald scotched that! Again - an act of treason wins the Presidency. Their plane left the ground in Iran almost simultaneously with Reagan's swearing-in.

Papa Bush was the point man for setting up the illegitimate Iran-Contra Guns for Drugs deal. And of course, Dubya was appointed President by the Supreme Court, after Gore actually WON the election!

Deception & dirty tricks are really all they've got!
