In 2008 I was energized about Obama and did a lot of volunteering for him. By 2012 there had been too many disappointments. I used the early-voting option to vote for him in October (obviously, the disappointments paled in comparison with the Rmoney horror show), then I went to Massachusetts to volunteer for Elizabeth Warren.

In 2016, I will again vote against the Republican. If Clinton is the nominee, that will mean voting for her as the only one with a serious chance of beating the Republican. When it comes to my time and money, though, Clinton won't be competing against Bush or Walker or whomever. She'll be competing against genuine progressives in other races. I agree with you that primaries are stressful, but even after the excessive rancor subsides, Clinton would be unlikely to win that competition.
