In reply to the discussion: Can Bernie Sanders Win the Love of a Party He Scorns? [View all]Peacetrain
(24,276 posts)I live in the reddest part of Iowa.. everybody probably knows that by now..As a Democrat, I face a lot of hostility during the campagin season.. Now Bernie Sanders is running to head up my party.. but he will not join the Democratic Party.. and when the time comes to get out work for our candidate..(and we got a lot of votes for President Obama out of northwest Iowa) .. how in the hell do I explain that.. that the person heading up my party refuses to be a part of that party..Because I have already been asked that.. so I can just imagine what the general election season is going to be like for those working the phones etc..
Edit to add.. I have said it before and I will say it again.. if Bernie Sanders wins the Democratic primary/caucus season.. I will vote for him wholeheartedly .. But as far as walking the blocks and knocking doors.. probably not..
