PORTSMOUTH — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign stop in the city has been moved from Leary Field to the nearby middle school.

A stage and podium with a U.S. flag in the background was being erected Friday afternoon outside Portsmouth Middle School, as the location for Clinton’s appearance, where the former secretary of state is expected to be endorsed by U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H.

City Manager John Bohenko said the city billed Clinton’s campaign $3,656 for use of the field, police, public works and recreation department resources and that payment was received Thursday.
