(84,711 posts)If I was going to do this as a Leaflet...I'd move #12 to the Top. But, I thought for "Low Information Voter" who doesn't have time...they just need a scan of issues...and so far this is the best "sort of" Bullet Scan I have found ...although Bernies Campaign has much better its more detailed than random people on a Grocery Store line might be able to handle and if it could be put on One Page...all the better?
My only complaint with these "Twelve Points" is that I'd like to put #12 as the FIRST....but, then that wouldn't be fair to the Blogger who put these Talking Points together.
12) Get Big Money out of Politics
Because of legislation such as Citizens United, corporations are now able to fund campaigns with billions of dollars, in the form of Superpacs. The donations provide incentives for congressmen to vote and act in the favor of corporations rather than U.S. citizens. Bernie Sanders wants to repeal this act, and have campaigns publicly funded, so all citizens, and not just the wealthy, can run for government positions.

These are just 12 of the life changing platforms of Bernie Sanders campaign. His voting records over the past 20 years demonstrate his legitimacy. If you agree with the following ideas, Bernie Sanders may be the candidate for you in the upcoming election.
1) Raise in minimum wage to $15 dollars to ALL positions.
Build up the middle class. Create incentives for people to get off welfare.
2) Equal Pay for Women
Women currently make .78 cents to every U.S. dollar. Bernie wants to pass legislation to fix that.
3) Paid vacation and maternity leave for all full time workers.
The U.S. is one of the only developed country without these policies.
4) Rebuild the U.S. Infrastructure.
Sanders want to put a 1 trillion dollar investment to rebuild roads, railroads, pipelines, and buildings. This would create 13 million decent paying jobs and make this country more efficient and productive. This also will make railroads an effective mode of transportation again, which will end airplanes monopoly on travel and lower cost of travel for all means of transportation.
5) Educational reform including Free Tuition to all Universities.
Put an end to state governments profiteering off of devastating student loans.
6) Climate Change Initiatives.
The U.S. should lead the world in climate change by reducing carbon emissions, straying away from our dependence on fossil fuels, and implementing alternative forms of energy.
7) Police Reform
Demilitarize the police. Make them part of the community, rather than separate intimidating entities. Ease the tensions between the public and police force.
8) Expand Social Security
Many GOP candidates wish to eliminate social security, which would force 70+ years old to continue working indefinitely.
9) End Trade Policies that encourage Job Outsourcing
Trade agreements like NAFTA and TPP provide incentives for greedy corporations to outsource jobs in China to employ workers who will work for $3.00 an hour. This is unethical and takes away from U.S. jobs.
10) A More Efficient and Free Health Care System
Because health care when youre sick is a right not a privilege.
11) Reduce Income Inequality
Put more money in the pocket of the middle class, through free healthcare, college, and vacation leave, and pay for such programs by taxing the 1% of the population that holds 90% of the income in this country. Tax Wallstreet and enforce taxes on corporations that try to evade them by banking profits offshore.

Aside from these platforms, perhaps the greatest reason to vote for Bernie Sander is that he is a class act. He does not believe in mud-slinging, negative campaign ads, donations from corporations, and the drama that goes into politics. When rudely interrupted at events, or interrogated throughout interviews, he always takes the high road and refuses to lose his composure even in stressful and unwarrented circumstances. Bernie Sanders stands for equal rights to all genders, races, and sexualities. He speaks for the middle class, rather than the Koch brothers and other billion dollar corporate leaders. He so far is truly seen as the voice of the people.
