In reply to the discussion: Clinton to Dunham: ‘If you can’t get excited, be pragmatic’ [View all]Hortensis
(58,785 posts)33. #1 here. "The Judges...shall hold their Offices during good behavior."
We would either have to amend the Constitution to limit terms or examine what good behavior is. Or both.
Notably, I just looked it up, and the first cluster of justices served less than 8 years each. After that, before the medical revolution, they averaged 12. Since 1975 they've averaged 25 years (!!!!), and that is expected to continue to rise. Especially with the GOP's determination to defeat demographic realities at the polls by appointing younger judges. Like Clarence Thomas, a bundle of character and personality deficits that promised to keep him the court's most intractable, conservative member.

I do too. Bernie would be the first non-Christian president. Too much religion re our Presidents.

I'm hoping the first female president is Elizabeth Warren, not Hillary Clinton.

If you can't get excited, be pragmatic. That'll look great on yard signs.
