(4,695 posts)of the president of the AFT to see the opposite positions given versus the position of the public education and public education union backing and the positions of AFT's backing union. IMO and to me, the statements I received from the president were the opposite of the teacher's fellowship of public education versus private education. It seems to me that the US Department of Education backs the privatization of education and the use of testing scores to end the careers of certified teachers. Charter schools want to hire someone for minimum wage without benefits to teach children while they take the profits just like in any other business. I am a teacher, but will not affiliate with AFT for the reason of the separate missions between the leaders and the teachers.
When the endorsement for Clinton was made, my first thought was why so soon. IMO the only thing that AFT and Hillary Clinton have in common is they do not like No Child Left Behind which was recently fixed by Congress which I believe would be known by AFT and all other teacher's unions. My second thought was that the president of AFT must be getting ready to walk through the revolving door just like the Clinton team, who worked with Clinton to help privatize Mexico's Oil Industry. Let me suggest that you research how privatization is a move to the Right whether it be for national education privatization or national oil industry privatization. Again its those facts, no matter where they are coming from, that are always out there. OS knows the facts about unions.
