(62,325 posts)in the living memories of many voters, which is why as his name recognition increases so does his base of support, across the political spectrum.
There are a few similarities however. At this time in the 2008 race, we Obama supporters were being told how futile our efforts were because only Hillary was 'electable' and 'viable'. I'm getting a sense of deja vu for some reason.
I am excited today. I just took a previously 'non-voter' to register as a Dem in NY so she can vote for Bernie in the election. She has never before been registered as a voter believing it was a 'waste of time'. But Bernie inspired her with his honesty and long consistent record on the issues that matter to her and to most people, that she decided THIS was the time to get involved in the process.
