2016 Postmortem

(1,587 posts)I didn't come from a political family (though strong Democratic belief), and I was busy serving in the USAF and wondering what I'd do with my kids if we ended up in a war (Iran hostage period).
My mother didn't register to vote until 2004, when she was 66. Like many people, she had come to believe her vote didn't count. After listening to me talk about politics, she changed her mind.
Most of my family didn't register to vote until about the time my mother did. As in her case, because of my feeling about voting. They were mostly in their thirties then.
Are you going to mock all of us, too? Might as well. Good for a roflamo emoji, right? Wouldn't want those little suckers to go to waste, after all.
You may not say you think you're better than people like me and my family, but your attitude is showing. It's people like you that make people like me just want to stop participating. You'll miss our votes when we're gone, though. Happy Republican future!
Bless your heart.
