2016 Postmortem

(15,435 posts)AGAIN want to say I thank you for posting this, regardless of some of the flack I see you received from others. You've also gotten support from those like me, but truthfully I haven't read every post.
I'm a little pressed for time right now, but want to say that since last night I made a VERY MOMENTOUS decision about how SERIOUSLY I feel about what my vote for Bernie means. I've never ever, ever done anything like this in my life before but I WILL NO LONGER play the DLC/Third Way Democratic Party game this time around!!
I'm only commenting here again to give you support for what you're saying and say I respect you for putting this out there. As I said last night I have 2 grandkids, a male and a female who DID vote for Obama, but told me without my input that Bernie has impressed them and they actually see a different politician type than they've ever seen before.
They've grown up not knowing anything else regardless of how many stories and events I've related to them. In my family and as a woman, I'm the political activist in my family. There have been times that I've used a lot of persuasion just to get my family to pay attention or even get off their butts and vote.
The point I want to make here is this: This OP is uplifting to me even though it's baby steps toward fixing a country that I feel has actually lost it's way. IMO, it's STUCK ON STUPID and has so many bricks that must be cleared to begin to see any light. The fix may be one of the hardest I've seen in my lifetime and I'm a Boomer and consider myself pretty well read on our history. I DO understand I sound overly dramatic given the many struggles of different eras in the past, but it's what I'm seeing.
So, fight the good fight and SCREAM OUT LOUD if you need to. My heart is sad and heavy but my spirit is still alive and with you.
Thanks again!
