a good dietician should be able to get you ironed up without the meat if you don't want it. most drs get pathetically little (or no) training in nutrition so they go to the tried and true "eat some meat." and all the little "food charts" and pyramids and crap that they learned from were provided by....you guessed it ..big ag (also known as the usda). at least that's the way it used to be. But a lot of doctors are now realizing that the Mediterranean diet or a largely meatless diet with some fish or lean poultry is the healthiest option. It took a long time to get here though and some people are still not on board. After the other day after the study came out about processed meat being a carcinogen, The spokeswoman from the cattle beef association or something came out and said well there isnt really any scientific evidence about this. True, they only looked at 800 studies. bwahahahahaha.

good health to you though, i hope you get the iron thing straightened out.
