In reply to the discussion: Bernie Sanders Sends Shock Waves Through American Politics With $2 Million Campaign Ad [View all]MADem
(135,425 posts)People DO want to know about the personal lives of the candidates. That was my point.
Why is it "OK" to drag "Dorothy" through the mud, then hold up Bernie's family with a (gee, turns out to be totally FALSE) claim that HE would never "use" his family backstory in a campaign?
Then,, when with two clicks, I can find him "using" (that particular "using" word came from the SANDERS acolytes MOCKING Dorothy--but hey man--it was a JOKE....look upthread, gee, they were only KIDDING...) his very story, I get swarmed by BMUS and Company, misconstruing what I actually said and meant.
This is why DU sucks. This very subthread.
It's only OK to mock Dorothy. It's only OK to say that if HRC mentions her mother, she is "using" her--but if Sanders mentions HIS family, why, that's all heartfelt and meaningful. And if you DARE say anything about it, why, that means you approve of Hitler, by golly!
smh.
Point out that the other side does the same thing, and it's wrist on forehead, oh-the-palpitations, I-am-so-offended.
Sorry--NOT buying it. And the attempt by a DUer to selectively EDIT my post to play gotcha? That tells me all I need to know about that person--and none of it is recommending in the slightest.
