And it's not about hostility, it's about being a hypocrite. What's mock-worthy for one candidate is just dandy for another.

This IS a discussion board. The idea is to debate ideas. The idea isn't to drag dead mothers through the dirt. And then claim it was all a "joke." What is funny about that? And what is funny about making fun of someone talking about their late mother? But IOKIYB, I guess?

I wouldn't object to moderation at this point, and obviously, if moderation returned to this board, it would be for all. I managed to avoid getting posts hidden when we had mods because I didn't resort to personal insult. I have found, though, that some people here just can't have a conversation without going straight to the nasty characterizations and accusations. It makes DU suck.
