A little story I heard about Bernie Sanders that seems very illuminating [View all]

This is something I heard on a Vermont Public Radio documentary about Bernie Sanders, a lifelong profile that was balanced.

Apparently he was a track star in high school. During a race one season there was a fellow runner who was not terribly good. Sanders had won a lot of races. But this time, he deliberately slowed down just enough to let the guy pull ahead and win the race, so he could have a win....He didn't make a big deal out of it, but he just did it to give someone else a little boost.

The other guy remembered that for the rest of his life.

IMO, as a reflection of character and integrity, that says something about the sincerity of all that Sanders has done since then.
