and furthermore, 1 out of 5 people live in California.
during this drought water usage has to be reduced, by 8-25% on average, and considering that much of California goes without measurable rain for 6 months at a time, not to mention, during the growing season, the idea that these folks are going to be growing their food is a bit unrealistic.
we are all, regardless of the weather, dependent upon civilization.
anyone else who thinks we can survive the collapse of civilization is neglecting the fact that while some can survive, even if many people are prepared, you can COUNT on the loss of a significant portion of the population because of the loss of things like proper healthcare, sanitation, the increase in crime, malnutrition and to put it more bluntly, famines during times of bad weather and famines due to non natural causes.
in the earth's history, humankind has never pulled off a low mortality rate and lifespan of 80+ years without civilization.
you can bet that we would see a substantial die off without it.
and i don't care how much gold people buy, how much canned food they put in their basements, how many guns they have, etc.
