We must respect the Office of the President of the United States. [View all]

During the final months of the 2008, President Elect Obama refused to insert himself into the matters of the Executive Branch, as he said, there is only one President at a time. Obama gave President Bush, and the Office of the Presidency itself, its proper respect; for to disrespect the Office of the President, is to not only insult the current President, but to all future Presidents that shall also hold that Office.
During one of President's Obama early State of the Union speeches, an infamous event occurred, where Congressmen from the opposite party (Wilson), yelled "You lie!" This was the start of the Republican crusade to delegitimize Obama and to embarrass of the Office of the Presidency.
Today, this continued assault upon the integrity and confidence of the Office of the President has culminated to usurping the President himself as the chief of diplomatic affairs. Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, addressed the nation concerning a terrorist attack upon a US embassy in Libya, resulting in the death of four Americans.
Initially, this doesn't sound unreasonable, as it would be expected for the nominee of a party share in the remorse of this terrorist attack and show himself as a uniting figure; however, Mitt Romney instead chose to devalue the Office of the Presidency even further. He decided that he would address the nation a half hour BEFORE the President of the United States had addressed the nation of this international tragedy, sending mixed signals to foreign nations and people abroad, in an attempt to score some political points and prompt a political response out of Obama, and even possibly force Obama to change the speech that was prepared by his Administration in response to the political attacks. To Mitt Romney's further disgrace, most of what he said was also not factual.
No person other than the President of the United States should ever interfere with foreign relations and diplomacy, unless that person is appointed or authorized by the President himself. This includes the nominee of the opposition party and the President Elect (if the incumbent President loses).
Now we must ask? Is Mitt Romney qualified to hold an office that he genuinely disrespects?

Personally, I was shocked to see Mitt Romney making this address this morning. I thought it was so strange, that Obama MUST have already spoken about the incident and I simply missed it. I didn't think anyone could so severely miscalculate politically to have actually "wore the guise" of the President of the United States and speak in his place, especially if you are from the opposition party.

A half hour later, when I saw Obama take the podium, I was in genuine shock. As much as I don't like Mitt Romney, I couldn't have disliked him more. I realized that he usurped the President of the United States, and he was going to suffer the consequences politically from both sides.
