Give credit where credit is due.
And if you're on this site you have to know that the repugs have consistently blocked closing Guantanamo. You know that, right, so why keep maintaining that he hasn't closed it. What was he supposed to, wave his "magic wand"?
I agree, some of the other things you cite are legitimate, but to be fair, try stacking them up against all of the accomplishments and his record comes out way ahead.
What president has been better since FDR? LBJ maybe but then there is Vietnam on his record. Hell, FDR interned Japanese Americans and most of his New Deals programs were restricted to whites only (btw, LBJ's Great Society programs remedied much of that exclusion).
Truman was a good Dem but dropping the nukes is a mark against him. Ike was not bad. Republicans weren't all crazy then.
Kennedy didn't get time to show what he would have accomplished.
Johnson, we've already discussed.
Nixon was a crook.
Carter was a nice guy in a down economy and was screwed by the Reagan crowds' treasonous dealings with Iran on the hostage situation before the election so he didn't get a second term to be judged on.
Reagan, treason and dementia, not a good mix.
Papa Bush meh.
Clinton, everybody was working but Nafta and Cafta began the deluge of off-shoring jobs.
Cheney/W. Bush don't get me started, the worse ever, no doubt about it.
Obama stacks up pretty damn good to all those guys.
My point again is, give credit where credit is due. Nobody gets everything they want from any president.
