114. Well technically it was Bush and congress that saved the econimy

If you think like that...Bush asked for the bailout and congress gave it to him and Obama inherited it.

But Gitmo is a prime example of what I am talking about...and I have argued this before right here on DU years ago.
Gitmo is a military operation, and Obama is CIC and the congress has no say so in a military operation save that of funding.
And that is when we were tricked, because he asked congress for special funds to build a new prison in the US and gave them the power to say no.

He did not need a new prison to close it and deal with the people who have been there for over 10 years some with no charges ...and that is a shame on us, Obama, and the USA. And we even tortured them with forced feedings...and that was during Obama's time. And he has the power now and when he first took office to order it done, and congress has nothing to say in the matter.

Yes our history of POTUS is a sad one for sure...and that is whey we need an honest moral person as president...and Sanders is the only one I see out there that is even close to that. And Obama has not dealt honestly with us and played political games and given us what a moderate Republican would have given us.

We have made a series of errors in selecting a POTUS...and if we get it wrong again it could be the end of our empire and the beguiling of a third world status for most of us.,,or worse, a cataclysmic war.
