The first thing I noticed about this group is that most of the people posting are those people that I've always generally liked (and actually remembered who they are!) on DU anyway.

Being the cautious type generally (I swear I'm the last person to get or try anything) I wasn't sure if I wanted to even sign up but since I've always been a history buff (all times and all places and generally all subjects) and have become fascinated by the history of women in general for the last several years I really latched onto the "history" bit of this group. I just feel a lot better now about getting the feet wet seeing that there are so many people in here that I've always just generally liked over the years anyway.

Oh wow! I just noticed the spellchecker is back!
