6. Kicking this because I used to be ranked in chess

Kicking this because I used to be ranked in chess (in high school and college, 83-87) and have been following her career ever since she beat Karpov (who is, in my opinion, the strongest player out there).

The chess world, as a whole, have accepted her despite her gender... wich did and did not surprise me. It surprised me because chess is still a predominantly male game. Nine out of ten players at any match are male, and is a very insular and little world. Did not surprise me because for the most part, chess players don't really care about who they win against, as long as they win.
