I was almost raped in college by a guy I considered a good friend. I started crying, and he stopped, but it was frightening.

I began telling people what happened, and was horrified by the number of women who had also been physically overpowered by the same guy. Most of these rapists, like pedophiles, are repeat and multiple offenders.

One close friend started crying, and said "well, he stopped for you, he didn't stop for me when I told him 'no' ". She had never told anyone what he had done. Another good friend had a roommate he had pinned down and raped, and she knew several other women he had raped. I began telling every women in our social circle about him in order to decrease the number of potential victims for him. Those who hadn't experienced it found it hard to believe, because he seemed so kind (think Zander from Buffy) but I'm sure they were less likely to get into situations where they were alone with him.

More exposure of these creeps can only help
