I am very happy to be participating at DU. I consider this forum to be the real news. The people's media. I choose the name Nowsam because I believe the time is now for Uncle Sam to embrace all the people who make up the nation. I believe the time is now that we care for the children, the elderly, the sick and the poor. If we do not turn this ship around right now we are doomed. The promise of our pledge of Allegiance says we are one nation indivisible. Are we as a society going to live the truth of this pledge or is it just lip service?

We must come together. How do we embrace those who believe the lies of vulture capitalism and trickle down economics? How do we reach the hearts and minds of those who are blind and deaf to the plight of those who are suffering? How do we live with haters?

Somehow we must come together.

Thank you, DU. I used to post here years and years ago but was dismayed and disillusioned and left the conversation. I have still been a passive reader of the forum for years and now I re-join the the conversation because Bernie Sanders, Robert Reich, and Elizabeth Warren and many of you have given me hope by shining a bright light on the many injustices that must be - must be remedied.
