And if you were to connect the RCA jacks to a recording device (VCR/DVD recorder) you might find the signal has copyguard imprinted on it, preventing recording.

That was the case with my DVR, although I found a device online that could defeat the copyguard signal, allowing me to make dvd’s From all the TCM movies I had recorded.
