Long answer: You'd have to have some sort of video capture device hooked to your computer, and then capture the video in real time (kind of like copying from one VCR to the next back in the 80s/90s). Basically hook the outputs from the DVR to the inputs of the capture device, press play on the DVR and record on the recording software that is controlling the capture device.
