I am actually neither. The name came from a story posted by another DUer, many years ago. When I first joined DU, in 2004, I was Husb2Sparkly. That soon got abbreviated to H2S. H2S is also the chemical symbol for hydrogen sulphide, the stinky stuff in eggs, farts, sewage, etc. This poster's husband, a chemical engineer, would see her typing a reply to "H2S" and would always laugh.

Sparkly and I thought it was pretty funny, too.

I real life, I tend be kind of silly and laugh a lot. I'm a happy guy. Sparkly likes to say I am a clown.

That obviously sort of grew into Stinky The Clown. In the only name change amnesty on DU, I made the change.

And here I am.

Edited to add this picture of our three and the kid next door. Our three are the German Shepherd, the Border Collie, and the Shih-Tzu. The 120 lb Lab is the kid next door who likes to go for a walk with ours.
