13. aww I'm sorry for the

loss of your companion. It's never easy losing a pet, one that you've nurtured and cared for. That is so awesome that you volunteer at a horse shelter. Horses are beautiful, amazing creatures. Animals can be very therapeutic that's for sure. I started out volunteering at an Exotic Animal Sanctuary, I loved it so much that I took on a job there. We rescue animals that have been abused, neglected, from people who simply just didn't want them anymore or didn't realize what they were getting into when they acquired them. We have over 250 animals, lions, tigers, cougars, bears, wolves, primates, birds, barnyard animals, kangaroos, reptiles etc. All of these animals have been domesticated and can't be let free in the wild, they would never be able to defend themselves properly. I agree it is funny how sometimes life can teach you stuff when you are not looking. I've found that to be very true from working there. No matter what is going on in my personal life, I always find strength and peace with the animals. I'm also an RN, and that has really helped tremendously in helping the animals when they are sick or injured.
