The page elements are layed out in layers. The facebook dropdown initiated by clicking the "like" button lies below the DU comments layer, hence, the bug. I would suspect that short OP which have larger open spaces created by the advertisements on the right side of the OP layer would not have the same problem because the FB dropdown does not extend down the layer far enough to to be caught under the comment layer below.
