100 posts and what's the meaning of it all? [View all]

Hello DUers,

I'm Addison, and I'm new to DU. I thought I'd check in at the 100 mark, let you know how it's gone so far, and then pose a philosophical question.

Here's a run down of my experiences so far:

- made a few snarky comments on political events.
- posted a few pieces that seemed well appreciated and garnered some views and "recs".
- learned what K&R means (and was surprised to find it's non-sexual)
- inadvertently started a small riot in the Education forum by posting a Nat Hentoff piece written for the Cato Institute that advocates asking students to evaluate their teachers.

It's been an interesting week.

But what I'm wondering is what's it all for?

Is there a point to posting? Has anyone here had their life changed, or changed someone else's life, because of a post on DU?

Just asking . . .
