Is there a way to cancel an alert? [View all]

I'm sure there isn't. But it would be nice. I sent an alert on an OP with an explanation of why it didn't meet the standards of the Late Breaking News forum. Not a credible source, in fact no source given, but obvoously Russian Imperial propaganda blah blah.

Right after I clicked Send, I thought, was that really in Late Breaking News? Nope, it was in Video and Multimedia. Sigh. Right at the top where Late Breaking News is. Close, and yet so far off.

I don't know if alerts get pre-screened by someone before being sent on to the jury, but I don't think so http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=modsystem , so, 7 people who would rather be doing something else will be summoned for a jury, and they'll all dump on me in justified revenge. Can't wait for "You've Got Mail!"

Anyway, it would be nice to maybe have a cancel alert feature, and maybe a 3 or 5 minute delay from when the Send button is pushed before anything more happens (before the software starts forming a jury). Just so 7 people don't end up wasting their time, and to save the alerter a lot of embarrassment (however richly deserved).

Thanks in advance!
