primary.

If he had gotten in this cycle he would be below Hillary in terms of my preference. It's not just his IWR vote, his history as a major architect of the Drug War- all the way to his absolutely horrible RAVE act.

I respect Joe's achievements, I sympathize with what he's been through lately, but I would not support him in a primary nor would he have been my choice for the presidential ticket given the points I made.

Kerry, likewise, is an accomplished guy, smart, I wouldn't write him off as a potential veep pick- but for me, yeah, the IWR vote is a big hurdle.

I also am sort of of the opinion that if it is NOT someone like Warren, it would be great for our party to expand its bench beyond East Coast Baby Boomers. Gavin Newsom is probably set to be the next Governor of California, he's one to watch, but probably this year is too early for any sort of veep consideration. I would consider someone like Kamala Harris as well as a potential name in the future too. She would add a lot to a presidential ticket.

One of the strongest arguments against HRC, to my mind, is her IWR vote. Warren DeMontague Feb 2016 #11
