Wasn't too happy voting today. After standing in line for over an hour, they tried to tell me I couldn't vote. I wasn't pleased to have to choose a party (because I don't buy into the party system), but I changed my affiliation well in time for the deadline, and I checked online after to confirm it had been updated. "Their system" said otherwise.

I got a provisional ballot, then noticed she had written my phone number incorrectly on the form. She seemed none too pleased that I caught it and corrected it. If she thinks I won't call to confirm that my vote was counted, she's dead wrong.
A man in his 70s next to me had issues, too. You could tell by his dress, mannerisms and posture that he had served in the military. I heard him say, "I have always been a registered Democrat. Listen, I just want to vote." They gave him a provisional ballot, too.

This isn't the first time I have had issues trying to vote. When I lived in Ireland, they told me I wasn't allowed to vote in the Presidential election. They finally allowed me to fax my vote, but I am none too sure it wasn't just thrown away.

These kinds of things should not be happening. If you have to cheat to win, you have already lost.
