How Bernie can win the black vote [View all]

I am of the same mind as some African Americans and believe that Bernie needs to speak out more forcefully against the injustices that people of color suffer on a daily basis. If he is going to win the minority vote, he needs to be a champion for social justice too, not just economic issues. As president Obama said yesterday, at the Eulogy:


Achieving economic justice would not change "the subtle impulse to call Johnny back for a job interview but not Jamal". What economic justice might do is give Johnny a living wage while Jamal is still waiting for a call back that never comes. Achieving social justice would give Jamal the same opportunity for the call back as Johnny has.

Racism is a big problem for our community and if Bernie wants to get our votes, he's going to have to start talking about our issues like, the out of control cops, and the racism that is plaguing our whole nation.
