I had said the same on DU awhile ago: because the age skews much older here, the word "socialist" has an instant negative reaction. But for those of us who are younger, it really doesn't mean much. If you look at the detail of the NH recent poll, you will see that HRC's support is 50+ and Bernie is the younger group (with females it is below 40) so that shows that the label doesn't mean anything except to conservatives.

What I think Bernie has to change is he talks a lot about Europe and most people don't have any reference to that at all. He needs to keep talking about effective, popular US programs such as Medicare and Social Security and then more people will understand. People don't travel much, so they have no idea what he's talking about I think.
