2. Pretty much the "Bernie pushes Hillary to the left" narrative, won't happen

The weathervane aspect of her candidacy is all about the front-end, how she markets herself to voters.

Her core is solid and won't change. She is a neoliberal on economic issues and has neocon tendencies re foreign policy. She is firmly allied with, and owes huge favors to, corporations dependent on militarism, on fossil fuel extraction, on labor outsourcing and insourcing, and of course the all-powerful financial industry.

What Clinton does will largely be what those industries want her to do.

Let's not fool ourselves into buying whatever progressive window-dressing gets applied to her candidacy, it will only be marketing to convince liberals there is enough reason to work for her election against Trump. From the beginning, this was the intended outcome of the primaries, an unsupportable Republican nominee who would sufficiently lower the bar to make DLC/Clinton policies look good in comparison.

Any concession to the left that Bernie can extract from the party is a good thing, but our real work lies in getting people like Bernie elected, not people like Hillary.
