Bernie Sanders

I've gone through a few of these election thingies here on DU. From the 2004 vote for a ham sandwich if it has a D because even a ham sandwich can beat shrub (fail) and the 2008 maelstrom. And the enjoyable Mittens implosion of 2012 with 47% and binders full of women. Though that first debate had me worried.
But I honestly think the coming "purge" won't be as expected. This season made it obvious that there are supporters on both sides (a small number support Bernie) who are just plain disrupters, poo slingers and generally unpleasant people. Passion can be shown without being an asshole.
The release of the kraken was the final chance for those of the passionate ways to act civil. One last benefit of the doubt when all hope of the self moderating system broke down completely.

My estimation is there are 40 core Bernie supporters, 30 core Clinton supporters and a few hundred Bernie leaning in the general population, going by recs on threads. Positive Bernie posts can see 250+ recs but positive Hillary get about 40. Look at the number of subscribers of the two groups. DU aligns platform wise closer to Bernie.
Which brings me back to the non-purge of 2016. Those who won't be civil will be gone. Those who make posts about supporting single payer, free public college with comments about how we wish Hillsry would support those and many issues will not. Those who say invading countries is not good for America and happen to point out which candidates stand are making an honest discussion post with hopes and aspirations that all candidates don't support immoral wars.
The existing terms of service and jury system will be thrown out and a new one installed. I think it will be more of a surprise for those militants on the other side to handle.
